- Description: The fog after a conference, a long flight or a week that knocked you sideways is real, and most of it clears with care you give yourself. For what lingers, an Emergency Healing helps you reset within 24 hours.

I've traveled all over the world for business events and family travel, and there's nothing like the fog of jet lag.

It fries your nervous system and can take even experienced travelers weeks to truly recover. It's closer to an illness, where your body feels mostly back yet your creativity and cognition are still recovering.

## Where the fog comes from

While traveling, you marinate in the soup of other people's energy. You join a collective consciousness of *people in transit*. Mix in the recycled air, the [DNA-damaging radiation inflight](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39062911/?ref=liminalcatalyst.com), and stressed-out travelers, and the soup quickly becomes toxic.

It's hard to think clearly in such an environment, and it's also hard to prevent that energy from affecting you.

## Reset yourself first

Most of the fog clears with self-care. Here are a few practical solutions I share with leaders:

**Hydration first.** Drink more water than feels necessary, all trip long. Ask the concierge at your hotel to book a mobile IV therapy session in your room with a Myers' cocktail, or recommend a local biohacking spa. Limit (to the best of your ability) dehydrating beverages and foods.

**Close out the trip.** Unpack the same night if you can. Tell someone at home about the best moments and look through your photos together. Then write down every follow-up you promised, so your mind can stop holding it for you.

**Wash it off.** A long shower or an Epsom salt bath the night you get home tells your body the trip is over. I think of it as rinsing the travel or event off my skin before I climb into my own bed.

**Protect your first few days back.** Block your calendar, move the calls that can move, and tell your team you'll keep odd hours for a day or two. Setting that expectation takes pressure off everyone, you included.

**Follow your energy.** Jet lag scrambles your best hours. If you wake up focused and creative, spend that energy on the work that matters most, because it may be gone by 3 p.m. Save email for the foggy stretch.

**Move your body.** Sweat and movement wake up the systems that sat still for hours in an airplane seat or a ballroom chair. A walk around the block counts. So do bodyweight squats or wall push-ups. Do what you can.

**Pray, if prayer is part of your life.** Ask for whatever you picked up that isn't yours to be lifted, and for your own clarity to come back. You'd be surprised how effective this can be.

My rule after a big trip still holds: the more I invest in my recovery now, the faster I'm back to full speed. Leaders play so many roles at home and at work that a foggy week costs everyone around them.

## When the fog stays

Sometimes you do all of it and the fog sticks. You've slept and you've hydrated, and your vision still feels far away. The next step won't come into focus. Decisions that were easy last week feel heavy, and you don't feel like yourself.

If you're coming back from an illness, common sense rules: check in with your doctor first about anything that lingers. A spiritual healing supports your bounce back and works alongside your medical care.

Any lingering fog is when I'd reach for a healing.

## The Emergency Healing

When you need to hit the Reset button, this healing delivers. It removes the miscellaneous distortion and confusion that builds up after travel, after conferences and live events, or as residual brain fog after an illness. It allows the fog to lift so you can see where you are and what comes next.

I perform it remotely within 24 hours of your booking, so you can book it from the airport and have it done before your first full day back. It's $150.

If you landed last night with a big week ahead and a head full of static, this is the reset I'd suggest first.
